Hunger Wants: Drunk Elephant

Get in line for Drunk Elephant, perhaps the most anticipated skincare brand to ever bless our fair shores from across the pond. And thankfully, it's worth the wait.

There are few beauty brands that reach icon status as quickly as US import Drunk Elephant has. Since being founded in 2014 by Tiffany Masterson – who couldn’t find one range of products to solve her skin issues – the 21 product brand has reached cult status in the US and Canada, and this month (amid hysteria amongst skincare fanatics) has finally made its way to the UK. With photo-friendly packaging Drunk Elephant has been a hit on Instagram too (count their 334k strong following), but aside from a millennial-friendly aesthetic the products really, really work.

Its secret weapon found throughout the range is Virgin Marula oil straight from the pip (an ingredient the brand gets its name from due to the myth that stated that elephants that ate enough Marula exhibited signs of being drunk – who knew!), which, with its high content of fatty acids, antioxidants and anti-microbial properties is basically a facial in a bottle for your skin. And unlike numerous products proclaiming to be clean, Drunk Elephant goes one step further to introduce clean-clinical, with each product formula and synthetic and natural ingredient chosen due to the direct impact they have on your skin. Industry tips include their award winning  C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil and LaLa Retro Whipped face cream. Transparent, straight-talking skincare that we can vouch for, and looks damn good on your shelf? Definitely something Hunger Wants.

Drunk elephant is available exclusively at Space NK and Cult Beauty. Click here for product details.
