HUNGER’s guide: Halloween Edition

Well sort of…

Halloween falls at an awkward time this year, a Thursday. Do you go out the weekend before to celebrate? Although surely it makes more sense to do the weekend after as it’s closer, but then its bonfire night? A decision for you to decide I’m afraid, but to help you out we’ve included a mixture of non-pumpkin related events and then those that, if you want to dress up as a cat, a witch or even, a personal HUNGER favourite, a devilled egg, you can.

States of the Body Produced by Love

Poets CAConrad and Nisha Ramayya explore the themes of mysticism and ritual in their work through readings followed by a conversation with Sarah Shin.

The discussion will consider: What is the relationship between love, divinity and abjection? How, through decolonial and feminist lenses, can we bring the infinite expanse into contact with present crises so that the mythic reckons with material conditions of oppression? And, what strategies for survival and transformation can collective and personal ritual practice offer this moment of ecological emergency, violent borders and increasing intolerance?
