Preview of Jeff Wall’s exhibition at White Cube Bermondsey.

An exclusive free preview of the renowned photographer, Jeff Wall, is open to all this Thursday. If unable to make the preview the exhibition officially opens on Friday.

The exhibition is a showcase of Wall’s new and recent works which strike out new directions for the artist. Wall is famous for his large-format photographs, with subject matter ranging from mundane corners of urban landscapes to tableau that parallels scale and complexity of nineteenth-century paintings.

 Rinse x The Pickle Factory with SPFDJ x VTSS All Night Long

If the weekend can’t come early enough, this event is for you. The last party from Rinse FM and The Pickle Factory’s collaboration will host two of the most exciting emerging techno talents, SPFDJ and VTSS, covering genres acid, EBM, hardcore and gabber across the night.

Rinse FM and The Pickle Factory have joined forces across June to celebrate the many faces of Rinse’s programming.

كهارب Best of Arabic Electronic & Underground Music

In response to the ground-breaking Shubbak, the UK festival of contemporary Arab culture opening this weekend, the Egyptian collective Kahareb have organised an opening party showcasing the best Arabic electronic and underground music.

Hosting DJs from Syria, Morocco, Palestine, France and Germany, the showcase features Sama (aka Skywalker) the DJ who brought techno to Palestine, and one of the most upcoming musicians in African futurism from Tunisia, Nuri.

This is a brilliant opportunity to see some of the industry’s most exciting and adaptable talent and to also celebrate diversity in electronic music.

Eduardo Williams with Mariano Blatt: Parsi at Uniqlo Tate Lates

Part of the free monthly event opening the famous gallery’s door at night to host a range of contemporary art and music, a screening of the UK premiere of the award-winning short film Parsi will be available. Parsi is shot by Argentine filmmaker Eduardo ‘Teddy’ Williams and poet Mariano Blatt.

The film was shot by Bissau’s queer and trans community, the individuals use a 360-degree camera as they travel across the city by foot, roller skate, bicycle and car. Williams then used a VR headset to crop to the footage to the cinematic frame. This process is what makes Parsi a truly unprecedented artwork.

Between the Waves with the Feminist Library

The Feminist Library returns to Tate Exchange, the workshop taking place on June 29 and 30, is a homage to Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp. The curation team have worked together to create a ‘campsite’ space inspired by Greenham Common, with workshops exploring migration, home and protest.

A programme of workshops, events, discussions, reading books and zines will include reading groups in Spanish and English.

About The Feminist Library; founded in 1975, it is a large archive collection of books and materials relating to feminism.

Last chance to see Mark Allen’s It’s (Not) Only Rock’n’Roll…

The free exhibition at the Barbican explores Mark Allen’s colourful career spanning over 30 years photographing the biggest artists in music history, such as David Bowie and Tina Turner.

Allen went from photographing Freddie Mercury at Live Aid as a student in the audience to shooting Britney Spears.

Congo Natty / Reggae into Jungle day & night party at Brixton Jamm

Reggae by day on the terrace, Jungle by night inside. Original junglist Congo Natty is taking over Jamm on this sunny Saturday. Alongside Congo Natty, there is also a line of extra special guests who are to be announced.

Featuring Caribbean street food and cocktails this is an unmissable 12-hour event for those who love dub, reggae and jungle.

Sambroso All Stars Present: The Buena Vista

Let Sambroso Noda take you to Cuba this Saturday at The Jazz Café. Sambroso, the heart of London’s Cuban community has whipped up an ‘all-star’ group of Cuban musicians to play their loving tribute to Buena Vista Social Club’s eponymous debut album.

The Buena Vista has won the Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album, being only one of two non-English speaking albums to be included in Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest albums of all time and still remains one of the most highly regarded albums for world music as a whole.

Hennessy: For the Culture

Celebrating and exploring the origins and influence of the UK’s Grime scene, Hennessy: For the Culture is open for the duration of the Get Up, Stand Up Now exhibition. Get Up, Stand Up Now: Generations of Black Creative Pioneers, is a huge event hosted by Somerset-house celebrating 50 years of black creativity in Britain.

The installation delves into the link from Hennessy the drink to the lyric, Hennessy has been referenced in over 5,000 tracks by top artists.

Bringing together esteemed music journalists, Lloyd Bradley and Hattie Collins, urban photographer Olivia Rose the installation will explore how grime music has become a true recognition of the wealth of Black music creativity.

Rachel Rossin: Stalking the Trace at the Zabludowiz Collection

The first UK solo exhibition by American artist Rachel Rossin is an ambitious work using virtual reality, exploring the human desire for control and agency in an increasingly precarious present.

Staged within a series of roped enclosures, in a room of constant projections, synchronised with sound, lighting and prop effects, the exhibition is both physically and virtually immersive.

At the favourite canal-side spot, Giant Steps is hosting one of the best in the business, Andrew Weatherall, for a 7-hour set on Sunday afternoon.
