HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER's Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what's hot, what's not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Tired of going to the same old bars and clubs every weekend? Looking for something a little more classy without sacrificing the fun? Well, look no further than NoMad London’s latest world-class bar, Common Decency, which opened its doors for the first time earlier this week. The bar will honour NoMad’s trademark warm, bespoke hospitality and captivating design whilst featuring a unique and diverse two-part menu. Cocktails in part one are highly technical in preparation, yet minimalist in presentation. Whereas part two showcases cocktails that embrace the classic and traditional with a whimsical presentation, but forward-thinking flavours.

Next up we’ve got Scotch & Soda who have released their new optical range, offering an authentic and expressive take on everyday eyewear. The new AW22 collection celebrates our fascination with outer space, whilst holding appreciation for our planet, Earth. Coming in both men’s and women’s styles, the collection features eyewear in earthy and minimal tones, perfect for the upcoming Autumn months. Whether you’re looking for something sleek or something on the bulkier side, Scotch & Soda have got you covered.

It’s probably about time you freshen up that playlist you haven’t updated since the start of the year. And what better way to do that than with Grammy-nominated rapper Freddie Gibbs’s latest album. $oul $old $eparately marks the Gary Indiana artists major label debut, with a plethora of famous faces also making a contribution including the likes of Offset, Anderson .Paak and James Blake amongst others. Throughout the album’s runtime, Gibbs proves his mastery through his captivating lyricism matched with a flow as smooth as butter. Tracks like ‘Dark Hearted’ provide moments of sombre reflectiveness whilst others see Gibbs embrace the party lifestyle like on the Moneybagg Yo assisted banger, ‘Too Much.’

Taking this week’s coveted title of MVP is Damson Madder, who have released their 2nd drop from their AW22 collection. The forward-thinking, sustainably focused brand launched their first outerwear and knitwear collections alongside an extended offering of accessories. Standout pieces include blouses embellished with unique Damson Madder broderie, dresses with cutouts, trims and ruffles, and sustainable loungewear.
