HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER's Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what's hot, what's not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Kicking off this week’s MVP is the incredibly luxurious Chateau Denmark. Situated on affluent Denmark Street, the Chateau mixes creative expression with architectural detail. The new and independent brand is set across 16 buildings, with 55 session rooms and apartments, which all feature distinct designs reflecting each building’s history while dialling into the rebellious spirit of Soho. With interiors from the award-winning Taylor Howes, the overall narrative imagines a time when punk rock and vintage gothic meet modern psychedelia.

Now that the World Cup is only a matter of weeks away, it might be time to start getting in the football spirit. And what better way to do so than with Aries and New Balance’ latest collaboration with Italian football giants AS Roma. The collaboration includes an official “On-Pitch” kit which will be worn by AS Roma in their Japanese tour when they play Yokohama F Marinos in Tokyo at the end of November. Staying true to the iconic Giallorossi colourway, the kit features a diagonal marbling streak of yellow and red that has become synonymous with the club. The collab also includes a “Pre-Game” collection with an AS Roma crested pre-game jersey, an all-black nylon training tracksuit and a limited-edition silver and gold metallic jersey — which portrays Rome’s most iconic figures including Lupa Capitolina, Lucius Verus and Julius Caesar. The “Pre-Game” collection launches today and is available at ariesarise.com, while the “On-Pitch” collection launches November 22nd at ariesarise.com and newbalance.com/football.

Next up is the Cluster Contemporary fair, which will highlight contemporary visual art practices, including all mediums from painting, sculpture, performance, sound and new media. The 2022 fair entitled Pandemonium & Order will give young artists from around the world a platform to express their views on the new world order as it emerges from the chaos and ruins of the old world. Based on the concept that the ideology and global socio-economic structures of our current world order are profoundly unsustainable, Cluster Contemporary aims to champion a new generation of visual artists that explore different prospective realities and break the norms and stigmas defining contemporary culture and ideology.

Finally, this week’s MVP goes to British music collective SAULT who have released five albums simultaneously as a free digital download – all of which are contained in a password-protected folder that will disappear after today. Once downloaded, a zip file contains five albums titled (Untitled) God, 11, Aiir, Earth and Today & Tomorrow. Across the five projects, there are 56 tracks in total. A message posted to the official Sault Instagram described the new trove as “an offering to God,” adding that the password “is in the message.” You can find the link to the SAULT albums on their website, and if you don’t have the patience for solving puzzles, you can probably find the password floating about on Twitter.
