HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER's Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what's hot, what's not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Are you looking to add some style to your activewear rotation? Well, look no further than P.E. Nation and ASICS latest collaboration. The capsule takes inspiration from vintage track and field style to create a collection of both apparel and footwear perfect for those winter workouts. The standouts in the collection are undoubtedly the two ASICS SportStyle GEL-QUANTUM 180 VII trainers, which provide a traditional streetwear aesthetic without sacrificing performance. The range will be available online and in-store from November 17th, available exclusively from the P.E. Nation website.

Next up, we have rising Nottingham artist Skaiwater, who released his debut mixtape, rave, today. The genre-bending project sees Skaiwater take influence from Jersey club on the viral hit ‘miles’ alongside Lil Uzi Vert, who makes a noteworthy guest appearance. Meanwhile, cuts like ‘bones’ and ‘meet me at the tryouts’ show off the artist’s smooth, vibrant and expressive vocal range. The production throughout the tape is eclectic – in the best way possible – varying from mellow and minimalistic to bouncy and raucous. With this project and the fact that he’s currently opening for Lil Nas X on his European tour, Skaiwater has cemented himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young talents.

Radek Husak, Considered to be one of the rising stars of the contemporary art scene, is set to open his latest solo exhibition at the Quantus Gallery and Grove Gallery on November 21st. Titled Duality, the exhibition presents a figurative and abstract study of the male form and represents a powerful process-based journey for the London-based artist. His work is highly theoretical and draws on various references from notable academic concepts and mid-century pop culture – while his glitching figures provide poignant commentary on ideas found in queer theory and gender studies.

With Christmas fast approaching, it’s always better to get those gifts in early – and what better way to do that than with this week’s MVP: Chanel’s Holiday 2022 collection. The Chanel Makeup Creation Studio uses the moon as its muse in this exclusive collection doused in mystery. The lunar-inspired collection features a colour palette of amber, red and gold shades in illuminating face powders, eye gloss, lipstick and much more. With this glistening collection, we wouldn’t be surprised if you shine brighter than the moon itself.
