HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar...

Sustainably and ethically minded brand TALA have just launched their 365 Sculpting Lounge Collection. The collection features eight new versatile pieces to implement into your spring wardrobe and beyond, including a cami maxi dress, cami jumpsuit, multiway maxi skirt and scoop black bodysuit – all arriving in sleek neutral colourways. The brand, founded by Grace Beverley, crafts its pieces in the collection with sustainably sourced, double-layered, super soft ribbed fabrics. TALA’s 365 Sculpting Lounge Collection is now available to shop here.

With summer (finally) on the horizon, sustainable eyewear brand Ace & Tate have added a selection of stylish new frames to add to your rotation. The brand introduces its first-ever kids range as well as their Hawt Pink frames, which are pretty much the perfect pair of sunnies to rock at this year’s Barbie movie premiere, thanks to their Barbiecore aesthetic. Also, Ace & Tate presents their retro-inspired Sun-Kissed shades, adding a warm glaze to your vision with sunset-tinted lenses.

Next, every sneaker-heads favourite book, SNEAKERS by Neal Heard, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In a first-of-its-kind exploration of sneaker culture, the book contains archival imagery of some of the most iconic kicks from the decades leading up to the noughties. SNEAKERS has now sold over 100,000 copies since its release and is still widely considered essential for any footwear connoisseur to this day. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Heard’s seminal book, and pick yourself up a copy here

Speaking of footwear, not many brands are as iconic in that realm as Timberland – and they’ve just launched a new collection of boat-inspired footwear and apparel. The new range utilises the brand’s famous hand-sewn craftsmanship and rugged lug outsoles, partnered with work-inspired apparel designs and responsibly sourced materials. First, there’s the men’s 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoes, and women’s Noreen 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoes feature rugged lug boot soles for traction and durability. The men’s Authentic 7-Eye Chukka takes the boat shoe to new heights taking inspiration from the brand’s legacy of boots that are as tough as nails. Meanwhile, the Cotton Hemp Denim Chore Jacket and woven SS Shop Shirt round out the collection, which is available to purchase here.

It’s safe to say that everyone loves UNIQLO – especially their viral shoulder bag that topped Lyst’s recent top products list – and luckily, they’ve now opened a swanky new store in Covent Garden. The store covers three expansive floors in a former Victorian carriage hall and will focus on experience-led features for customers, including RE.UNIQLO Studio, UTme! and UNIQLO UK’s first cafe in store. In celebration, UNIQLO has also partnered with TFL to bring you exclusive designs celebrating the London Underground’s 160th birthday

This week’s MVP is something for all the explorers out there. As the weather begins to clear up, it’s that time of year to start pencilling in some explorative escapades into your diary. And one of the most exciting parts of embarking on an outdoor adventure is carefully selecting your apparel to protect you from the elements and ensure you look good whilst doing it – which is where The North Face’s new UE collection comes in. Whether you’re looking to scale peaks or explore city landscapes, the collection is more than built for the task, without sacrificing style, of course. This season, the brand enlists guest designers Hans Chyi, founder and chief designer of WISDOM® and Andrea Jiapei Li, the New York-based womenswear designer and winner of the 2015 VFILES MADE Fashion Award. A highlight from the collection includes the women’s cropped city gilet, coated with durable water repellent to protect from ever-changing elements, whilst the women’s skirt is constructed with The North Face WindWall fabric and chalk bag pockets, allowing for exploration across all terrain and any weather conditions. The North Face UE Collection Is Available To Buy From May 2nd, at www.thenorthface.com and in select The North Face stores and partners.
