HUNGER’S MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

There have been a plethora of potential takers for this week’s coveted MVP spot. As always, a huge number of collaborations have been revealed this week including Michael Kors x Ellesse. The American luxury fashion brand teamed up with luxe Italian sportswear brand Ellesse to show off their summer ready collection inspired by athletic styles of the 70’s. If you’re looking to inject some classy playfulness into your summer wardrobe this collection should have your name all over it.

Maybe golden oldies aren’t your thing? Looking for something a little more modern? Let us point you in the direction of New Balance’s latest Grey Day drop. The collection features New Balance’s signature grey colourway on three classic silhouettes – the XC-72, 57/40 and 327. Want to jump on the New Balance wave? Grey Day is the perfect time to start. Oh, and each model meets New Balances green leaf standard so you can level up your kick game without having a guilty conscience.

However, while this week hasn’t been short of memorable moments, there can only be one MVP. Taking the crown this week is Daily Paper’s Resort ‘22 collection. If there was one collection to personify the unmatched euphoria of summertime it’s this one. Taking inspiration from the founders’ heritage, the collection includes colours from the Ghanian, Moroccan and Somali flags. Featuring crochet styles, swimwear and core staples these pristine pieces are ready made for those unmatched summer days.

The colour palette ranges from delicate beige, soft pastel and popping yellow reintroduced on crisp cargo sets, classic shirts, bucket hats and biker shorts – with a practical side pocket to hold your phone; giving the ultimate base for a summer wardrobe. Newly introduced silhouettes are a figure hugging knee-length branded playsuit, a knitted waist-length cardigan and a sizeable cotton beach bag. Mixing modernity with tradition comes the returning classic Remulti tee. The tee features an artwork on the back reading Daily Paper in the five most spoken languages in Africa, as well as the iconic Reslider in pastel green and baby blue colourways.

You won’t have to wait long to spice up your summer looks with the collection dropping on May 20th at all Daily Paper flagship stores in Amsterdam, NYC and London, as well as online and selected retailers worldwide.
