HUNGER’s MVP of the week

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do, or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

This week’s MVP kicks off with ‘It’ girl and influencer Ruby Lyn, who has partnered up with With Jèan for a personally curated 10-piece collection. The collection was co-designed by Lyn and offers pieces true to her own unique sense of style while still offering styles that could be easily incorporated into any wardrobe. The capsule contains an assortment of mini-skirts pleated and mesh, along with a tracksuit and the introduction of the signature Ruby Top, a short-sleeve knit with three-button closure detail. The styles range from $89 – $169 and are exclusively available at Withjean.com.

Next up, award-winning sustainable fashion designer Phoebe English has just unveiled an eight-piece series crafted using 100% upcycled materials. Launched in collaboration with B Corp distillery Maker’s Mark, The (Re)Made to Party Capsule Collection comes as the festive party season descends on London and single-use party outfits become more prevalent than ever in the year. The eight-piece collection includes a dress, shirt, t-shirt, trouser, blazer, jacket, scarf, and handbag, and has been produced on a limited made-to-order basis, all made entirely using a combination of up-cycled clothing such as t-shirts, deadstock plaid, occasion party wear and deadstock wools. The capsule will be exclusively available at the (Re)Made to Party Boutique and Bar, open Thursday 16th – 18th November at 149 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JQ.  Customers that wish to purchase an item will be measured in person, before having their custom-made piece delivered to you in time to wear for the Christmas holidays

Continuing with this week’s bumper drops, we have Baum Und Pferdgarten’s latest collaboration with Danish watch and jewellery maker Skagen. The Royal Baumgartens collection is a further interpretation of Baum und Pferdgarten’s Pre-Spring 2024 collection inspired by the timeless charm of Margot Tenenbaum, a character from Wes Anderson’s iconic film, The Royal Tenenbaums. The collection includes a range of exclusive accessories, each designed to reflect Tenenbaum’s playful and feminine character. Most reminiscent is a black-lined eyeliner-inspired statement case watch with an undeniable air of old-school elegance. Hearts and imitation pearls adorn select pieces in the collection, adding a touch of romance and sophistication to every outfit, while floral clips for your hair add a sprinkling of sparkle. Nothing’s more fun than a good old-fashioned treasure hunt, and it seems that Ami Paris agrees. In celebration of the release of their Paris Bag, the label has announced a treasure hunt around London. The game consists in finding 50 miniatures, 3D-printed Paris Paris produced by digital artist @3DFiti, each featuring a distinct QR code, and will be hidden in carefully selected areas of the capital. AMI will post a video and a map on its social media, revealing the first drop and its location. The following day, the brand will reveal all 50 locations of the Paris Paris miniatures, which will officially launch the game. The bags will be pinned on a digital map, available to view on your mobile phone. Each time a bag hunter finds a miniature, they must scan its QR code in order to become its legit winner, which will also subsequently allow them to claim their prize: 5 QR codes will earn their lucky winners a real-life Paris Paris bag. For more information and to take part, head over to Ami’s Instagram here.

Earlier this month, HUNGER boarded Belmond’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, for its inaugural ‘Travel With Pride’ journey, which was conceived to celebrate self-expression and the LGBTQ+ community. As expected, it was a riot; an unforgettable experience that melded the elegance of one of the world’s most iconic rail journeys with all the debauchery of a night out in the city. As the train sped through Paris, Switzerland and the Italian alps, Belmond brought out a variety of entertainers to keep guests going until the early hours. American TV producer and actor Gary Janetti and Canadian fashion stylist Brad Goreski acted as hosts, while Purple Disco Machine and Horse Meat Disco threw down tracks that transformed Bar Car ‘3674’ into a veritable party. A four-course dinner was curated by the Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert as stewards poured endless coupes of champagne alongside bespoke ‘Travel with Pride’ cocktails. It’s safe to say that you can catch us there next year… Find out more about Travel with Pride: Paris to Venice, here.
