Jax Jones Returns and Launches Music Label

The new venture, launched in partnership with long-time manager Dan Stacey of Loving Alliance and Polydor Records, will be run by artists for artists.

Grammy nominated producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Jax Jones today (4 June) announces the launch of his brand-new record label WUGD, in partnership with long-time manager Dan Stacey of Loving Alliance and Polydor Records.

Jax is the first to release on the label with a new track titled “Feels” from his forthcoming Deep Joy  EP. The spine-tingling RnB slice combines Jax’s signature dance floor-ready beats with a new reflective mode, gleaned from a music break after the release of breakthrough album Snacks.

Announcing his return in an open lettershared on his social channels, Jax explained how the last year has forced him to slow down, face down past demons and seen him become a father. From this, has arisen a desire to create truly meaningful music, rooted in Jax’s personal experience and shaped by joy.

Created by artists for artists, WUGD was founded by Jax as a way to platform and mentor the next generation of talent, providing its roster with full creative control, integrity and investment. As well as dance music, WUGD will be signing artists that span a variety of musical genres as well as collaborations with multi-discipline creatives.

The latter includes WUGD’s label manifesto, which has been created with LGBTQIA+ activist, model, and spoken word poet Kai Isaiah Jamal. The current artist roster includes System.Inc., Forever, Chaya, Teqkoi and Aiko.

Speaking of his new track, forthcoming EP and label, Jax said: “This new music is the most authentic I’ve ever made and I’m really excited that it’s dropping on my own record label, WUGD. I went through 80 versions of this song because it marks the start of my EP Deep Joy which is coming later this summer.

A full interview with Jax will be dropping on HUNGER Online next week, in the meantime you can stream “Feels” on all major platforms.
