Jeremy Scott is leaving Moschino after 10 years

Luxury Italian brand Moschino has announced that the creative director is leaving his post.

After a decade of being at the helm of Italian fashion house Moschino, Jeremy Scott has announced today that he is leaving the brand.

After joining in 2013, his designs have become synonymous with the theatrics of fashion, plays on commerciality, and the tongue-in-cheek irony that surrounds the industry. His work has merged the social commentary of pop culture with art and fashion, creating a culture surrounding the brand of international recognition and celebrity fans.

“These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination. I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind. I would like to thank Massimo Ferretti for the honour of leading this iconic house. I would also like to thank all my fans around the world who celebrated with me, my collections, and my vision for without you none of this would be possible,” the designer told WWD

Scott’s most recent show at Moschino’s AW23 collection at Milan Fashion Week was an ode to surrealist artist Salvador Dali, with oversized spikes, corsets, and disproportionate garments keeping to his signature abstract style.

Massino Ferretti, chairman of Aeffe who owns Moschino, said, “I am fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott. I would like to thank him for his 10 years of commitment to Franco Moschino’s legacy house and for ushering in a distinct and joyful vision that will forever be a part of Moschino’s history.”
