Kate Moss testifies in Johnny Depp trial: “He never pushed me”

Kate Moss has finally testified in the ongoing trial.

Kate Moss was quizzed about a holiday she went on with Johnny Depp, where Amber Heard claimed the model suffered abuse at the hands of the actor.

“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm. As I left the room I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back. I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention,” said Moss. Asked if Depp pushed her down the stairs, she replied, “no”.

“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” she continued. Moss added that she has never testified in a court case before as she appeared via live video from Gloucestershire.

When asked why she wanted to testify now, there was one objection from Heard’s legal team.

Moss was called as a rebuttal witness after Heard had brought up the famously-private model. Moss shut down Heard’s claim the 58-year-old pushed her during the course of her relationship with Depp, which spanned the years 1994 to 1998.

Depp is currently battling it out in court with Heard over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she penned in which she claimed she was a victim of sexual violence. While Heard did not mention Depp by name, the Edward Scissorhands star claims the article tarnished his reputation and career.

Depp, who was married to Heard from 2015 to 2017, has denied his ex’s claims. The defamation trial’s closing arguments are expected on 27th May.
