Learn Korean with BTS

Not sure what to do with all this time indoors? Thankfully your fave K-pop band has found the perfect solution.

Not sure what I’m saying with “나는 BTS를 좋아한다”? Well then, this is for you. Launching today, K-pop faves BTS are launching a series of online Korean lessons. Taking the form of a web series, the bandmembers will give fans a total of 30 language lessons spanning grammar, vocabulary and everyday expressions via social media app Weverse.

Don’t worry, this isn’t going to be anything like Modern Languages at school. Without a textbook in sight, lessons will be based off footage from the band’s reality tv show Run BTS! and other media appearances. The idea for the initiative came from the demand for English language subtitles on BTS videos and was, according to Big Hit founder Bang Si-Hyuk; “designed to make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS’ music and contents due to the language barrier.”

Sounds like a good cure for self-isolation boredom…and we can’t wait to watch BTS videos without subtitles once all this is over.
