Let Sasha Keable be your Internet Guide

Meet the South London native you need to know...

Dropping her brand new EP, MAN, this week, Sasha Keable has proven herself to be the breath of fresh air the UK’s music scene needs. Returning after a 4 year hiatus last September with hit single ‘That’s The Shit’, the star’s new tracks are vibrant and catchy, blending her diverse influences seamlessly. Raised on soul and hip hop, Sasha’s sound is as eclectic as her taste, inflecting jazz in brassy vocals and fluttering melodies. We meet the South London singer-songwriter and let her take us on a tour of the internet.

What would you like to see more of online? What about less of?

I’d like to see more people being open about the days they don’t have their shit together. I’d like to see less people pretending they have their shit together.

What or who is the best account you follow? The worst?

The best accounts I follow are @doggocom for all your dog meme needs. My good friend @palomija for body positive gorgeousness. @puppycodes for weird internet happenings. @exotic.cancer for pure enjoyment. The worst is @celebface I’m obsessed with the truth.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve read about yourself online?

That I’ve got my shit together.

What’s your favourite meme?

The teary cat face because it’s very versatile.

What’s your earliest memory of the Internet?

Signing in and out of MSN Messenger so that the person you fancy would realise you’re online. Also Spending every waking moment designing my Piczo page just for 10 people to see it.

Is the Internet a good or bad thing for music?

We can’t deny it’s such a powerful tool to market ourselves and get content directly to fans but it also can be so detrimental to our mental health in a lot of ways. I think you just have to be very aware of what you are consciously or subconsciously allowing to enter your mental space and be sure to protect your energy.

How many followers represent success?

Ughhh who knows.

Finally…what’s going on in your life?

I’m about to release an EP called ‘MAN’ which is verrrrrrry exciting!

Listen to Sasha Keable’s new EP, ‘MAN’, below now.
