LOL, Kanye West’s 2024 presidential campaign hasn’t received a single donation
Unsurprisingly, Kanye West’s “YE24” presidential campaign doesn’t appear to be popular with the public. According to a recent filing, it was revealed that the disgraced rapper’s campaign brought in zero dollars in donations in 2022.
In a filing released on Monday and surfaced by The Daily Beast yesterday, Ye 2020 (the current name of West’s political action committee) reported an expenditure of $120,000 in the last three months of 2022 – but any donations were completely absent.
Despite Ye publicly announcing his presidential bid, he still hasn’t officially declared his candidacy, which requires filing paperwork with the FEC. However, the artist did reveal a campaign video in November, though that has now since been deleted from Ye’s Twitter page. Ye also posted a video in which he opened up about his infamous dinner with former President Donald Trump and white supremacist Nick Fuentes at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club.
According to the campaign filing, Ye’s political committee paid Fuentes $9,026.46 and $5,693.41 in travel reimbursements. The committee also paid British far-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos two payments: one for $9,955 and another for $40,000. According to the filing, the payments were for campaign services and a domain transfer. Yiannopoulos acted as Ye’s campaign manager but was reportedly fired last month, according to The Daily Beast.
It should come as no surprise that Ye has received zero donations for his latest presidential bid considering the alienation of much of his fanbase following numerous anti-semitic comments, praising Adolf Hitler and the “White Lives Matter” controversy.
If “YE24” does go ahead (which currently looks incredibly unlikely), it would mark his second presidential run, following his 2020 campaign – where he ultimately earned around 60,000 votes in a dozen states.
