Louis Vuitton’s fortune cookie bag is, of course, worth a fortune

The luxurious, wacky accessory debuted on the Paris Fashion Week SS23 runway and will set you back $2,310.

Louis Vuitton is back in their surrealist bag era, following the paint can bag they released for FW22 that went viral. This season, however, the abstract world of LV is hungry for more as they introduce their fortune cookie bag for sale to anyone eager to get an insight into the future. There’s just one catch – it’ll cost you a whopping $2,310.

First seen on the Paris Fashion Week SS23 runway, the mini cookie bag in question is far more luxurious than the starchy snack itself. The accessory is produced with calf leather imprinted with the faded LV logo, while the foldable cookie’s ombre edges can be stretched for a straight-edged alternative. The PVC pouch and textile lining are revealed by zip, with a removable fortune wristband attached that reads “creativity listens to the heart” (and other fortuitous phrases).

The transforming clutch turn wristlet is where it’s all at, but accompanied by the PVC packaging, makes for a seriously delectable accessory. The purple and orange graphic ‘wrapping’ debuted on the runway and holds the fortune cookie leather inside. The runway itself was a final celebration of Virgil Abloh’s legacy and featured a yellow brick road that played with the concept of social change and a high-spirited colour palette. In a memorable ode to the artistic director, it makes for luxury novelty at its finest.

The French luxury house is back in the game with their novelty accessories after dipping their toes in the paint can last season, and are set to rival Moschino and JW Anderson with their wacky signature designs. So as low culture meets high, LV gets creative with its cookies, and the future looks full of LV’s best novelties. Is anyone else hungry?
