Love Island 2022: All the rumoured cast members so far

We're finally entering summer — and with the heat comes the inevitable drama of Love Island...

The 2022 iteration of the hit reality series is due to hit screens in June, and while showrunners haven’t announced the official cast list yet, there are many rumoured contestants already. This year’s purported lineup includes the likes of celebrity siblings as well as some completely new faces. Read on for your breakdown…

Brad McDermott

Brad is the sibling of Love Island alum turned television presenter, Zara McDermott, who entered the villa back in 2018. Now, her artist brother is rumoured to be going on the dating show to find love too. A source told The Sun: “Brad is a young, good looking guy, and he has seen how appearing on Love Island has completely transformed Zara’s life. Though she didn’t find long-term love, it has served as a great platform for her. She also had a great time there, and he thinks it would be a great laugh.” Here’s to keeping Love Island in the family!

Missy Keating

Another celeb relative rumoured to be entering the villa this summer is Missy Keating — the daughter of Boyzone star, Ronan Keating. Missy has already appeared on Dancing With the Stars Ireland, so she’s no stranger to the silver screen. Ronan was actually asked about all the speculation during a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain. “I haven’t heard anything. You never know. These kids are busy, all my kids, they’re all doing different things. I haven’t heard anything myself at the moment,” he said. “I don’t know how I’d feel about it. I wouldn’t be able to watch.”

Kat Harrison

We may also have a Love Island x Geordie Shore crossover on the way too! Kat Harrison is the ex of Geordie Shore and Ex on the Beach star Marty McKenna, and The Sun has reported that Kat, who is a student and model, could be joining this year’s Love Island lineup. An insider told the publication that showrunners think that she “has the full package, brains and beauty, and could bring a lot to the table,” and is used to the spotlight due to her relationship with Marty. “Getting onto Love Island will be a huge boost for her though and will show off her credentials in her own right,” they continued.

Sophie Draper

Sophie Draper is also tipped to join the cast this summer. The 22-year-old owns a beauty salon in Nottingham and split from Aston Villa footballer, Matty Cash, in 2021. “Love Island bosses think she could be a good fit for the show. It’s early days still but she definitely has potential,” an insider told The Sun about the beautician. “Matty will be pretty shocked to see her looking for love on TV.”

Jordan Spencer

Jordan Spencer is a 27-year-old bi-coastal basketball player, who divides his time between the UK and the US. According to The SunLove Island producers are “keen” to have him on the show.

Gemma Owen

Gemma Owen is the daughter of England footballer Michael Owen, and she has some serious credentials, being an international dressage champion with her own swimwear range to boot. “ITV bosses are scrambling to get her signed up for this year’s Love Island,” a source told The Sun about the 19-year-old.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

No stranger to the limelight, Ekin-Su has already starred in the Turkish television series Kuzey Yildizi, and now she’s rumoured to be joining this year’s Love Island lineup. The Sun reports: “Ekin-Su is the perfect contestant to get viewers tuning in this summer. Not only is she beautiful, but she’s also used to being on TV and moves in showbiz circles so she’s sure to bring fireworks.”

Joshua Legrove
Love Island has seen a long line of sporting stars (Tommy Fury, anyone?), so it makes sense that boxer Joshua Ledgrove may be joining the cast this year. Speaking about the model, a source told The Sun that he’s a “perfect fit for the show.”
