Migos star Takeoff shot dead aged 28

The Atlanta rapper was reportedly killed following a game of dice in Houston.

Takeoff, one-third of Atlanta rap trio Migos, has been shot dead in Houston, Texas, TMZ reports.

The 28-year-old rapper, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot at a bowling alley in Houston where he and Quavo were playing dice around 2:30am Houston time. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people on the premises were shot and taken to hospital. Quavo was unharmed.

Takeoff was the youngest member of the Migos, alongside his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. The trio began rapping in 2008 under the collective name Polo Club. In 2011, the group released Juug Season, their debut mixtape as the Migos.

The Migos went on to become one of the most successful and influential artists of the 2010s, releasing a slew of hits, including ‘Versace,’ ‘Bad and Boujee,’ and ‘Motorsport.’
