Actor, producer and makeup model Millie Bobby Brown has just launched her latest venture: her third customisable collection with Converse By You.
As Converses’s youngest-ever collaborator, Millie’s custom collections have used Converse’s canvas as a platform to express her passions over the last four years — a project coinciding with her advocacy for young women around the world via her role as a UNICEF Ambassador.
Available for online purchase from today (15 March), Millie’s third customisable collection with Converse By You has tapped young illustrator Pauline Wattanodom to collaborate on a new take of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star. The approach is part of the ongoing Converse All Stars program, Converse’s robust community-focused ecosystem of mentorship, commissions and funding that aims to create new opportunities for young creatives around the world facilitated by Converse’s extended network.
Together, over the course of six months, Millie and Pauline digitally created a unique assortment of illustrations, materials and colour palettes to fit Millie’s vision. The process was facilitated by the Converse design team who also provided mentorship to Pauline during the creation of her first-ever footwear project.
Speaking of the project, Millie said: “To me, fashion is such a strong expression of who we are as girls and it does contribute greatly to our sense of identity.” Continuing, she added that: “Empowered women empower women. The more people empower me, the more I want to empower people. That’s a never-ending cycle of amazing women, like Pauline.”
