Guerlain Covers HUNGER’s Community Issue

To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we unveil a selection of beauty covers and talent covers including Stefflon Don, Dixie D'Amelio, Nathalie Emmanuel, Zandra Rhodes, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Jodie Comer, MJ Rodriguez, RoxXxan and Jodie Turner-Smith.

This year, HUNGER turns 10 and we’re ready to celebrate in style.

For SS 21, we’re excited to announce the theme of HUNGER’s 20th issue: community. Documenting the power of people coming together – whether that’s in the name of a common cause, mutual aid and support, or a shared culture – the issue takes us from local communities in Liverpool to the stars advocating for the rights of global communities on the international stage.

To coincide with the issue announcement, we’re also revealing our first cover stars. Rising Birmingham rapper RoxXxan talks LGBTQIA+ acceptance in the music industry. Musician Stefflon Don discusses the prejudices faced by young mothers and making her way as a woman in rap.

Ahead of her appearance in Fast & The Furious 9, actress Nathalie Emmanuel speaks about life post-Game of Thrones, mental health and why Black Brits are thriving in Hollywood. Designer Zandra Rhodes talks with friend Hilary Alexander about her decades-spanning career in fashion and her unique creative process.

Kingsley Ben-Adir discusses his BAFTA-nominated role in history-making film One Night In Miami, working with Regina King, and his upcoming turn in the Marvel universe.  Actress Jodie Comer appears in conversation with long-time friend and co-star Stephen Graham to discuss their freshly wrapped project Help, imposter syndrome and making the leap from the small screen to the Hollywood silver screen.

Jodie Turner-Smith, opens about her new role playing Henry VIII’s most famous wife, Anne Boleyn, the impact of Queen & Slim on her career and her first year of motherhood. Pose actress MJ Rodriguez, discusses the importance of trans representation, how ballroom culture shaped her and the biggest “full-circle moment” of her career to date. Our Digital Cover Star Dixie D’Amelio discusses trolls, creating online conversations about mental health and launching her music career.

Beauty fans also have a selection of covers to enjoy. First up, conjure sun-drenched days and cloudless skies with the best Spring/Summer beauty looks from Dior Beauty. Guerlain’s Chief Sustainability Officer speaks to Dino Bonacic about the natural beauty revolution and the fight to save the bees for a powerful Guerlain cover story exploring the interconnectedness of humankind and nature.

Our next Community Issue cover is taken from Crowing Glory, featuring regal hair sculptures from Nick Irwin and Emmanuel Owusu-Afram and for the issue’s final cover, enter the Garden of Eden with Tuuli, HUNGER’s first muse.
