Ms Hadid goes full VSCO girl with Gi’sposables IG account

We all love VSCO girls: the softer counterpart to the e-girls giving us painful flashbacks to our ’08 flirtation with emo eyeliner. With a penchant for no-make-up looks, scrunchies and analogue filters, their normcore style has us all going a little lighter on the contour and stepping back from the black-on-black ‘fits. It seems that their influence has even infiltrated the upper echelons of society, with supermodel Gigi Hadid launching her own disposables-only IG account. Entitled “Gi’sposables” (we see what she did there!) a brief scroll through her feed offers up candid gems from some of the world’s most exclusive fashion events.

Some of the most envy-inducing snaps document JLo partying with Donatella at Milan Fashion Week, Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell and Kacey Musgraves getting down at the Met Gala, and backstage moments from Valentino Couture. Normally subject to the brighter-than-the-sun flash of a professional camera, Gi’sposables gives you the chance to see the world’s glitterati basking in the kind of terrible lighting you could only get from a drugstore disposable camera.

However, stepping back from all the glitz and glamour: there’s a lesson to be learned. With Gigi, the mirror selfies and gals-holiday-in-Mykonos club pics are a wholesome and painfully relatable reminder that she’s just like us – except with better hair.  No matter how much money or influence you have, and the Hadid have a lot, you’re just as basic as everybody else.
