Oceanus is the new swimwear brand inspired by 1980s mob wives

Full of peroxide wigs, tan lines and women who would definitely try to steal your man, the visuals for Oceanus’ swimwear collection are a Malibu Barbie dream.

Shot by Hunger favourite Nadia Lee Cohen in California and with more than a few Donatella Versace references, they’re a nostalgic introduction to the new brand inspired by 1980s mob wives.

Childhood friends Hannah Attalah (a fashion graduate) and Alexia Frangakis (a fashion entrepreneur) created Oceanus when they noticed a gap in the market for luxe, fashion-led swimwear.

Incorporating intricate embroidery, bold prints and metallic fabrics – the pieces blend swimwear with evening wear. “We are designing for the kind of woman who’s not afraid to make a statement, who would wear our swimwear straight from the pool to the party!” says Hannah, “we want women to feel empowered and body confident.”
