Photographer Giacomo Cosua explores the intimacy of everyday life

Head on a visceral journey through his work in the upcoming exhibition, 'I DON'T WANNA WAKE YOU UP BUT I REALLY WANNA SHOW U SOMETHIN'.

Presented by Zuecca Projects, photographer Giacomo Cosua will spotlight a selection of his vibrant work at Spazio Ridotto in Venice. Opening tonight, 14th December, the show – entitled I don’t want to wake you up but I really wanna show u somethin – will take us on a visceral journey through the artists world.

Exploring Cosua’s desire to “continually engage and ‘awake’ the viewer, along a sequentially chosen path through the exhibition space”, the photographs present us with everyday situations for the diverse subjects, making the ordinary extraordinary. As the gallery explains, Cosua’s work is a “wandering journey, without a destination; a tale of places and people. Highlights include stories of the recent American presidential election, and testaments to common daily-life situations. The exhibition is a global voyage through countries such as Indonesia, with its massive pollution problems, to the Republic of Palau, an island isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.”

I DON’T WANNA WAKE YOU UP BUT I REALLY WANNA SHOW U SOMETHIN, curated by Zuecca Projects, runs from December 14, 2018 – January 20, 2019 from Tuesday to Sunday 10.00 am – 06.00 pm at Spazio Ridotto Calle del Ridotto, San Marco 1388 30124, Venic. Free entry. Take a look through the gallery below to see what to expect from the exhibition…
