HUNGER PREMIERE: Prepare to fall hard for Hope Tala

‘Jealous’ is honey to the ears.

Let Hope Tala’s newest single Jealous, a beautiful infusion of tropical rhythms and serene vocals, transport you to the dreamiest of summer days.

Featuring her forward-thinking bossa nova influenced soul sound paired with poetic vocals so soft they could have drifted in across the sea, Jealous is a delicious taster of what’s to come from her new EP, Sensitive Soul due to be released next month. Hope Tala has also just announced her live debut on August 14.

The 21-yeard old West Londoner has been turning heads ever since her debut onto the music scene, Hope Tala is not only an important new voice in music but also for her generation, she reflects on her experiences as a POC and a member of the LGBTQ community within her sound.

Jealous is a tranquil melody, but also holds deep power and narrative through the lyrics: “A dichotomy lies at the heart of ‘Jealous’ in that I construct myself as being in danger but also being dangerous, fearful but also causing fear, harmed but also conflicting harm. That’s what jealousy is to me; a complex clash of on the one hand being vulnerable because of the fear of being hurt but on the other hand knowing that you can inflict harm yourself upon your relationship through being open about your jealousy.” Said Hope Tala on the track.

Scroll down to listen exclusively to Jealous, you definitely won’t regret it.
