pushBUTTON AW19: Queens of the post-internet age

The cult Korean fashion label brought some regal drama to fashion week.

Guard hats were given a rainbow makeover, bold oversized silhouettes made 80s boardroom shoulders appear meek by comparison and contemporary streetwear infused with a punk aesthetic – pushBUTTON’s electric catwalk was well worth the early call time this morning.

Historical dress codes were the theme of the day, remixed together to create a perfect balance of oddities – think Elizabethan collars, anime-illustrated bustiers, sportswear paired next to silk dresses and chunky sneakers (topped a hat made from images cut out of Her Majesty).

The muse? “A true queen in the modern sense of the word,” according to designer Park Seung Gu. Check out our exclusive backstage coverage below, shot by Micaela McLucas.
