Global heritage brand Burberry hits us once again, storming 55 looks in the latest resort collection. Delivering an exquisite, eclectic and sophisticated assortment of apparel, ranging from dashing streetwear to more contemporary daywear ensembles, decked by a meek prominence of formalwear. In many ways, the resort collection led by Mr. Tisci himself, was aimed to satisfy the longing of several target audiences, making it sparingly accessible for “everyone”.
Defining “Burberry as a lifestyle”, the label urged to keep the iconic British heritage rather intact by proposing an unconventional push in terms of silhouettes: experimentation was a key perceptible component, followed by a categorisation of looks and apparel styles juxtaposed between one another. The rising of streetwear, however, comes in very handy for the label, craving to attract an extensive audience, with an increasing purpose pointed at younger as well as future generations, cogitating a new way forward.
Staple pieces stormed with prodigious authority, ranging from sportswear, biker jackets, dresses, hooded puffer jackets, surface printed blousons accessorised by vivid graphics, scribbled outerwear and lingerie pieces.
Besides, the contrasting facet saw Tisci’s “Burberryesque” urban definition being an utterly eccentric momentum, capable of inspiring an older bracket too, which – unquestionably – is encompassed by a wealthier pret-a-porter fashion hunter searching through the means of fine quality and outstanding sartorial resilience. Here’s to a full on “tête-à-tête” with ready to wear clothing which, as seen by Tisci’sidealistic vision, serves as a “ready-to-shop” conscious move, installing great representation of retail-awareness.
What isn’t to neglect, though, is the lavishing tonal palette of browns, varying tones of beige, the iconic camel presence, variations of knitwear, striking evening dresses and utilitarian long-line outerwear. The verdict? Turns out in creating a succulent blend of tailoring, prepared to satiate an all-round fan of urban-chic apparel.
Very well played, Burberry, very well played. * my card’s declined: oh, dear! *
