Ru Paul’s Drag Race to Feature Transmasculine Contestant

Boundary-breaking queen Gottmilk is among the newly announced Season 13 cast.

Yesterday the world received some much overdue good news as Ru Paul’s Drag Race announced its cast and premiere date for season 13.

Dropping its first episode on 1 January (perfect hangover viewing) the show will also be featuring its first transmasculine queen: Gottmik. A makeup artist to the likes of Lil Nas, Paris Hilton and Heidi Klum, his beauty skills know no bounds and, seemingly, neither does his ambition, with him stating; “I need to be the first trans winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, period,” in his Meet the Queens video.

Gottmik follows in the footsteps of former trans contestants Peppermint and Gia Gunn, as well as non-binary queens like Sasha Velour, Shea Couleé and Valentina.
