Sasha Katz is the gif artist deconstructing your world

Moscow-based artist, Sasha Katz fell into the world of gifs back at art school, and just hasn't looked back.

Describing her work as “a variety of pixel art”, Sasha explained that to her “the gif is an ideal format” because “it’s concise and infinite at the same time”. Having been commissioned by the likes of Nike and Dunkin’ Donuts, Katz is making waves IRL as well as on Insta.

Whether it be exploring the symbiotic relationship between plants and technology, where greenery sprouts from keyboards and screens or her pink power, each piece is more mesmerising than the first. So it makes sense why the artist has decided she “cannot go back to static images anymore”. By using ordinary objects and subverting our expectations of them, Sasha Katz has turned the wold upside down with her playful creations.
