Scent: Piran Caseley has been announced as this years’ winner of the Swarovski X Central Saint Martin’s jewelry design project and the recipient of a £1000 cash prize. The initiative was designed to promote innovation, creative and individuality through support from tutors and mentors from the Swarovski guild. The continued 70 –yearlong collaboration with Dior and Swarovski has lent many ornate, opulent pieces in jewellery, accessories and beyond. As the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibit in association with Swarovski ensues at the V&A, the project informed students to utilize the Swarovski aurora Borealis crystal that Manfred Swarovski and Christian Dior had collaborated to create within their designs. “It is wonderful to see how these exciting young jewellers have responded to this theme and we are delighted to award Piran Caseley for his piece which displayed an imaginative interpretation of the project brief and an exceptional level of craftsmanship.” says Nadja Swarovski.
