Shakira is reportedly trying to curse her ex-mother-in-law using a witch doll

The singer recently parted ways with Gerard Piqué after over a decade together.

In news you probably didn’t expect to read, Shakira has been keeping a mannequin resembling a witch on the balcony of her Barcelona home, facing in the direction of her neighbour – who happens to be her ex-mother-in-law.

The singer recently revealed that she was parting ways with Gerard Piqué in a statement made in June 2022 after over a decade together. “For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy,” the message reads. “Thank you for your understanding.”

The singer also recently released ‘BZRP Music Session #53,’ which appeared to address the aftermath of their fallout, including the fact that her ex-mother-in-law is still her neighbour. “You left me the in-laws as my neighbours / Media outlets at my door and in debt,” she sings in Spanish. “You thought you hurt me, but you made me stronger / Women don’t cry anymore, they cash in.”

Piqué has publicly responded to a few of Shakira’s one-liners from her song. In response to her claim that he “traded a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo,” Pique was seen driving into work in a (you guessed it) Twingo.

According to the Spanish television show Más Vale Tarde, Piqué’s mother, Montserrat Bernabeu, had asked members of Shakira’s staff to turn the witch mannequin around, but nothing has changed. One reporter said that the ex-mother-in-law was worried the singer was planning something sinister with the doll.

“Weeks ago, I got some information that Pique’s mother was worried about an alleged ritual that was done to her with a black witch,” tweeted Barcelona reporter Marc Leirado Millán. Millán said he ignored the claims — until “a fan of Shakira” reported to him the same story. “So I went to check if this information was true or not, and sure enough, there was a life-size black witch with a white beard,” he continued. Now, we’ve all heard of the archetypal evil mother-in-law, but this is taking it to the next level.
