“I’ve always been interested in the idea of juxtaposition – whether in tone, or composition, there’s a beauty in the opposite,” Lawton tells us. “I wanted to create a collection of intimate beauty shots that feel warm, raw and textural, and in contrast to an accompanying set of stark, almost serene black and white images that are about a silhouette.”
“Each featuring the same ‘muse’, in this case model Anna Conradsen, who has the ability to shape shift and offer beautiful intimate portraits as well as beautiful body shapes. Working with makeup artist Gina Kane, she brought an attention to detail in crafting beautiful, elegant touches of colour.”
