FW22’s hottest hairstyle? Partially shaved heads courtesy of Bella and Gigi Hadid

Gigi and Bella Hadid debuted bold new looks Monday, storming a New York runway with bleached eyebrows, short bangs and half-shaved heads.

The sisters’ dramatic transformation was soon revealed to be the work of prosthetics artists, who had altered their appearance with the help of bald caps, wigs and makeup.

The futuristic styling was part of Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2022 show, which saw the designer’s eponymous brand unveil over 40 new looks at the New York Public Library. Gigi modelled an enormous pink sweater and grey skirt, while Bella was dressed in a black vinyl dress with opera gloves.

As for how Gigi feels about occasionally questionable styles, the model previously told Harper’s Bazaar that it is not her “job to have an opinion” on what she is modelling.

“It’s my job to wear what I wear and have enough of a photographic mind to understand how to make that piece look good, sellable, and give the feeling that is wanted by the creative team,” she said. 

On Instagram, where Bella shared a behind-the-scenes look at the transformation, many fans have questioned the model’s hairstyle. One user commented “Please tell me it’s a wig” while another added: “Bella, I love you but what is that…”

However, others revealed that they were fans of the unique hairstyle, with someone else commenting: “I’m loving this look for you.” Another said, “only person who can rock this look.”

Looking to shake up your locks this summer? Maybe you should take a leaf out of Hadid’s book and shave most of them off in what will surely be one of this year’s most controversial looks.
