Stormzy returns with huge new single ‘Mel Made Me Do It’ alongside cameo packed video

The accompanying video features the likes of Jose Mourinho, Usain Bolt and Louis Theroux.

Stormzy has finally made his comeback with his first solo outing in over three years: a seven-minute onslaught cementing his legend status – featuring a guest verse from Stylo G and a potent monologue by Wretch 32 (narrated by actress Michaela Coel) – titled ‘Mel Made Me Do It.’

The track features a minimalistic looped instrumental with booming 808s and intermittent strings giving Stormzy’s impeccable flow and lyricism the spotlight. The track comes alongside an 11-minute music video directed by KLVDER, intertwining multiple storylines and features a whopping 35 cameos (we think that might be a record). Among these include the likes of Usain Bolt, Jose Mourinho, Dave, Headie One, Little Simz and Louis Theroux.

Although currently unconfirmed, it’s expected that ‘Mel Made Me Do It’ will feature on Stormzy’s upcoming third album, which the rapper said in March would be released before the year ends.

Fans on Twitter were quick to share their amazement at Stormzy’s latest video, with one fan writing “I’m gonna put it out there. That new Stormzy video is the best video to ever come out of the UK. Ever. He’s done a madness here.”

“Stormzy is too clear. That’s the best video to come out of the UK,” added another.
