Sydney Sweeney showcases her love of vintage cars in new Dickies x Ford workwear collab

The ‘Euphoria’ star is defeating stereotypes by merging her love for vintage cars and pre-loved items for the new collection.

Sydney Sweeney, who rose to fame in 2019 as Cassie in Euphoria, is undoubtedly the ‘it’ girl of her times. But captivating acting aside, Sweeney is on her own journey in the auto shop, fixing up cars and finding bliss in mechanics. Her TikTok account @Syds_Garage started in the pandemic and now boasts 1.5 million followers as she stitches together clips of her under bonnets, re-doing paint jobs, and even stripping whole cars apart altogether.

Surprising though it may be, Sweeney has always had a love for vintage – cars and clothes included. So it only seems apt she has now released her own workwear line in collaboration with Ford Motor Company, manufactured by the iconic workwear brand Dickies.

Her first project saw the actress purchase an original 1969 Ford Bronco (which was a childhood dream of hers) and completely restored it herself throughout the lockdown. She filmed her experience working in the auto shop and posted it to her TikTok, resulting in a partnership with Ford.

The collection includes reupholstered and remodelled classics, like beige overalls with pink straps, corduroy baseball caps, baby blue handkerchief scarves with Ford branding, and the beloved Dickies work pants.

This isn’t the first time Sweeney has ventured into design, however, as her latest project earlier this month with Frankie’s Bikinis saw embroidered flowers, beaded embellishments, and lipstick-printed two-pieces released.

Their versatility of Sweeney is what makes her journey so exciting. Since her car-restoration project success, this new collection provides an inclusive and sustainable take on workwear – a refreshing new start for female car enthusiasts. The Ford x Sydney Sweeney collab is available online at Ford.
