

New York photographer Kriistina Wilson uses bad tattoos to question our obsession with logomania in a new Hunger editorial entitled ‘Branded’. “I wanted to look at how high fashion steals from subculture,” Kristiina says. “Selling us back an idealized version of our own ideas that we could never afford.” Makeup and tattoo artist Jenai Chin appropriates luxury labels “like a game of telephone whispering in our ear” adding that “the end result in this instance being brands like Charnel and Louise Vuitton literally branded all over ourselves.” Check out the full photo series in our gallery below and to see more of Kristiina’s work, follow her on Instagram @kristiinawilson.
