The Vietnamese photographer capturing nude art

Discover the hidden gem of the South East Asia scene...

Hau Le is capturing youth and timeless beauty through his lens with a very colorful approach to photography. Born and raised in Vietnam, nude art has always been a controversial topic for Hau’s culture. “The movement of the female body is amazing and attractive,” says Hau. “And I want every woman to confidently show her beauty, even if it’s not perfect.”

His project, The Original Red, is a reparative process of the ills of history, where nude art is banned and the youth and beauty of Vietnamese’s mothers are lost due to imposed societal restrictions. “Red curtain background is one of the most popular backgrounds for a portrait photo shoot of the 1990s in Vietnam,” explains Hau. “Colour vibes are categorized based on popular film tones back at this time.”

Picture after picture, Hau manages to capture nude art in a delicate yet beautiful way. Discover some of his most interesting shots below…
