Ukraine: A list of resources to donate to now
On Thursday, February 24, troops from Russia crossed the border and launched an attack on the north, south, and east regions of Ukraine. On the 22nd day of the conflict, as civilian casualties continue to mount (on Sunday, it was reported that at least 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has implored the world to do more. “Russia has not simply attacked my country. It went on a brutal offensive against our values,” he said, “Ukraine is grateful but we need more”.
RANKIN agency has previously shot in Ukraine with Kyiv-based production agency, Radioaktive Film, who have told us that the situation on the ground is incredibly worrying. Yesterday, the founder of Radioaktive, Darko, shared an image with the APA of the road in which their Kyiv office is situated. The devastation is colossal, especially for those who see the places where they live and work destroyed — with little to no idea when and if they will be able to return.
People around the world are showing their solidarity with Ukraine, through protests and donations. Ukrainians themselves have compiled a list of organisations where you can donate to help those affected. Read below for some other ways in which you can make a small, but tangible, difference.
Humanitarian Aid and Medical Supplies
The Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal is helping DEC charities provide food, water, shelter and healthcare to refugees and displaced families.
The British Red Cross has launched a Ukraine Crisis Appeal to provide food, water, first aid, medicines, clothes and shelter to those affected.
The Salvation Army‘s Ukraine Crisis Appeal is providing urgently needed, practical and emotional support for people displaced from Ukraine.
UNICEF is helping children and the most vulnerable families in Ukraine with access to food, clean water, and other life-saving supplies.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has launched an emergency appeal to provide emergency aid and lifesaving protection and to ensure that displaced Ukrainians are sheltered and safe.
Biblioteka launched a campaign to collect medical aid in March and since then have managed to collect 20k worth of medical equipment that gets delivered to the frontline. See their linktree with resources, here.

Save the Children is providing families with shelter, food and clean water.
Voices of Children provides children with psychological and psychosocial support.
Revived Soldiers of Ukraine deliver medical equipment and supplies and provide treatment to injured soldiers and those affected by the conflict.
United Help Ukraine is distributing donations, food and medical supplies to displaced Ukrainians within the country, as well as those affected by the conflict, and the families of injured or killed soldiers. You can donate, here.
People in Need provides humanitarian aid to more than 200,000 people on the ground via food packages, shelter, hygiene products, access to clean drinking water and heating supplies. You can donate, here.
Nova Ukraine is a Ukraine-based non-profit organisation that provides citizens with essentials — everything from hygiene items, clothes and household supplies to baby food. You can donate, here.
The Ukrainian Red Cross is a humanitarian aid stalwart. You can donate, here.
CARE International is providing affected Ukrainians with food, hygiene items, psychosocial support services, money, and access to safe water. You can donate, here.
International Medical Corps is currently on the ground and assisting citizens with emergency health care services, and mental health and psychosocial aid. They are also highlighting the fact that we are still in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and are helping to keep the people of Ukraine safe. You can donate, here.
The UN Refugee Agency is helping displaced Ukrainians seek refuge. Donate, here. So is the Women’s Federation for World Peace International.
Sunflower of Peace is raising funds to make medical backpacks for frontline healthcare workers.
Fundraisers
Donate to World Central Kitchen — an organisation feeding thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainians fleeing their homes as well as those remaining in the country.
Artfare has started a fundraiser to support those who are suffering from the war in Ukraine. Through to the end of April, they will be donating all commissions from art sales to World Central Kitchen.
Spain4Ukraine is an initiative of parents from various schools in the Garraf area of Spain. Their mission is to bring back 137 displaced Ukrainians from their war-torn country. Donate to the GoFundMe.
Buy a £20 charity t-shirt designed by a Ukrainian artist to fundraise for HUMANITAS. 100% of profits will be going to HUMANITAS to support their efforts in getting medical supplies to hospitals in Ukraine.

Darklight Art is selling a print for £50 to support aid work in Ukraine. Funds will be equally split between Choose Love and Save the Children.
