VERO Presents: Kabba Exclusive Live Session

VERO teams up with HUNGER to showcase the best musical talents of 2020...

Raised in London after spending her early years in Sierra Leone, Aminata Kabba has always had a flare for music. Utilising 90s pop as the soundtrack to her teen years, at 16 she was scouted and signed by Take That’s Gary Barlow, who saw her performing under the moniker A*M*E. As A*M*E, she had a pretty impressive kickstart to her career; nominated for the BBC Sound of 2013 and securing a Grammy nomination with “Need U (100%)” alongside mega producer Duke Dumont. She also enjoyed chart-friendly collaborations with the likes of Shift K3Y and MNEK.

These days, she’s shaking off her house roots and has pivoted to R&B as KABBA. Earlier this year, she released a self-titled EP under her new moniker, and proved that, despite her change in direction, her sound is just as masterful and hypnotic as it always has been.

Check out her stripped-back version of “My Work Is Done” via the video below.

The Kabba live session is part of a new music series by the authentic social network VERO, Rankin and Hunger Magazine.
