Whitney Peak revealed as muse for Chanel’s iconic Coco Mademoiselle fragrance

The Canadian actress continues her relationship with the brand, which previously saw her act as their US market brand ambassador.

Chanel has announced that Canadian actor Whitney Peak will be the new face of the forever iconic Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.

The rising 20-year-old star was propelled into the spotlight after landing one of the lead roles in the Gossip Girl series reboot – and starred as the lead in Hocus Pocus 2. Peak has built up a relationship with Chanel that has continued to evolve over the years, with her first becoming their US market brand ambassador, then muse of the 22 handbag campaign, before becoming the new face of Coco Mademoiselle. These are achievements certainly not to be scoffed at.

The actor was selected for these positions thanks to her  captivating joy and spirit, which embodies the youth of today and echoes the temperament of a young Coco Chanel. “Remember, she came up in a time when women didn’t really have any freedom. And yet she found a way through a society that was limiting for women and she continued to persevere, to work on her craft, to create things,” comments Peak. “Coco Chanel is that girl. She is unconventional.”

Speaking of Coco Mademoiselle, Peak explains that she holds the fragrance incredibly dear. “I’ve gotten to build a relationship with Coco Mademoiselle that overlaps any experience I’ve ever had with the fragrance before,” she says before adding, “It’s not often that you get to learn how the perfume you wear is made. I wear it, and I’m like, ‘Yes, this is me.’”

The amber, feminine fragrance provides the perfect balancing act between strength and subtlety with a layer of seductiveness and has become a mainstay scent ever since its induction in 2001. Now, with Peak at the forefront, Coco Mademoiselle is entering a new era defined by the confidence of its latest muse.

The new Coco Mademoiselle campaign starring Whitney Peak will be unveiled in March 2023.
