For your first playlist refresher of the year, we have Flatbush Zombies’ Erick The Architect, who begins 2024 with the release of his latest unconventional single, ‘Ezekiel’s Wheel’. Encapsulating the rapper’s left-field approach, the track explores metaphors in the Biblical story of Ezekiel’s wheel, in which God arrives on a chariot drawn by four living creatures, and speaks to the unknowable powers we sometimes call upon to push us through a fight or struggle. The new track is a nod to Erick’s time growing up attending church with his family in Flatbush, Brooklyn, which partly led him to become a musician. The single arrives from the artist’s forthcoming album, I’ve Never Been Here Before (out February 23rd) and is yet another glowing reminder that we should all be tapping in come its release.
