As we’re well aware by now, Fridays are all about new music, and this one’s no different. Hackney-based music collective The Silhouettes Project released their sophomore album today, The Silhouettes Project, Vol. 2, featuring the likes of Kojey Radical, Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, and Jords. Their latest release is an amalgamation of all we have come to know The Silhouettes Project for: community, collaboration and unfiltered expression. Tracks like the jazz rap-infused opener ‘Be Myself’ and ‘Council Rap’ are filled with poignant and reflective bars, while buttery smooth melodic cuts like ‘Shade’ provide a ray of sunshine through the grey skies of London. With Beyoncé announcing the second phase of the Renaissance trilogy this week as a country album, it’s clear that Western wear isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Ahead of the cowboy curve is Guess USA, who, under the direction of designer Nicolai Marciano, has been crafting covetable collections inspired by Americana and the Wild Wild West. The son of Guess co-founder Paul Marciano introduced the Guess USA line in 2017 as a way to revive the brand’s archives and pay homage to the brand’s American roots. And his AW24 collection does just that. At the heart of the collection is Marciano’s signature vintage-style denim and cracked leather. This season sees classic silhouettes like trucker jackets and denim shorts with heavy distressing and shredded hemlines that evoke the brand’s raw, rebellious spirit. New this season is wax-coated denim, adding an ole-slick sheen to the season’s lineup of rustic denim. Take a peek at the collection below.
Damson Madder is ushering in spring early with their latest collection, ‘In Bloom’. Drop one, launching online on 16th February gears up for spring, with an explosion of florals, embroidered details and broderie anglaise. Print stories include a new picnic check, featured across a shirred midi dress, and a seersucker midi skirt and waistcoat co-ord. For the maximalists, a matching sunhat and drawstring bag complete the look. The now iconic Damson Madder leopard print is featured across a ruffle detail blouse and matching shorts for the perfect day-to-night look, as well as a denim micro-skirt. Meanwhile, drop two, launching on 29th February, sees a step change in colour, upping the saturation with a palette of pink, purple and blue as well as pops of aqua and orange, looking to summer months ahead. The label recently revealed its SS24 collection, which includes a range of stylish, eye-catching matching sets for the season ahead. Particular highlights come in the form of the Sammie denim jacket, which features a sleek cropped fit, boxy shoulders and an SG monogram print that arrives with the matching Enilda skirt alongside the equally stylish Barbie-esque hot-pink blazer and trouser combo.
