MVP of the week — Featuring Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster and Jacquemus x Nike

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Kicking off this week’s MVP is Gentle Monster and Maison Margiela, who have teamed up again for a whole new collaborative eyewear range. First joined forces last spring, the two labels’ combined their distinct aesthetic codes in their inaugural collection, comprised of 11 models spanning a comprehensive range of shapes and fits. Expanding on the previous collection’s success, the new lineup sees a total of 17 models in expanded colorways, new materials and silhouettes that elevate their futuristic and artisanal appeal. Just like last time, Maison Margiela’s hallmarked four stitches are incorporated into the temples of the frames as an instant indicator of the pieces’ collaborative status. Among the new range, the handcrafted leather frames are undoubtedly the key highlights, spanning models MM104, MM106, MM108 and MM115. The collaborative collection will be officially released on March 7 and will be available to shop via Gentle Monster
