MVP of the week — Featuring Aries x FILA and Converse x A-COLD-WALL*

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

Aries is teaming up with FILA once again for a new capsule, with the idea of highlighting a distinct sense of Italianness throughout their collaboration. The capsule arrives in a palette of soft pastels – pinks and greens, made even softer and faded through garment dyeing – and features zip-up jackets, jumpers, long-sleeved t-shirts, trousers, but also tube socks, caps, and the occasional miniskirt made with elasticated bands, inspired by the tape wrapping the handle of tennis rackets. Everything is washed out, projecting a sweet vintage feel, which is highlighted in the accompanying campaign, featuring musical duo and siblings Sons of Raphael, who recently scored Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. Aries x FILA is now available to shop online.

Is there anything more quintessentially British than the pub? Probably not. So it’s not surprising that London-based label Fera’s latest collection – titled ‘Extra Strong’ – looks to the safe haven of countryside boozers for inspiration. The collection features the Shire Jacket, a rugged 12oz cotton canvas jacket, described by the label as “the only jacket you can wake up wearing in a bush and waltz into the Ritz in for breakfast.” Meanwhile, the Quilted Gilet is a nod to the quilted jackets and gilets that have been part of the British outdoors since the dawn of time. Rounding out the collection is the Moonrakers Gilet – featuring lightly wadded quilt lining and secure front pockets with a hand warmer pocket layered on top – and a selection of swanky caps. Fera’s Extra Strong collection is now available to shop here.

As we slowly transition into the warmer months and finally begin to escape the cold, bitter British mornings, nothing signifies the beginning of spring/summer quite like a new pair of trainers. So, thankfully, END. and HOKA have teamed up for what could be an early contender for SS’s most sought-after kicks. The collaboration reworks the HOKA Mafate Speed 2 and Kaha Low silhouettes, both of which are inspired by some of the world’s toughest terrains. They’re one of those pairs of shoes that are equally as suitable for a long day at the office as they are on a rugged, mountainous hike. Each multi-faceted trail sneaker comes dripped in a pleasing melange of greens, beiges and browns and sits atop HOKA’s now-epochal oversized midsole. Shop the collaboration now exclusively at END.

Finally, adding another potential offering to your footwear rotation, Converse have once again teamed up with A-COLD-WALL* (ACW), reimagining Converse’s Weapon Ox. The Weapon was formally reintroduced last month by Converse and is the centrepiece of the latest project from the duo, serving as a follow-up to their all-black version of their Geo Forma Boot that launched in late 2023. This time around, the sneaker leans on a flint grey colourway to occupy a majority of its build, with a rust orange visible at the lining and the sole. Clothing also arrives as part of the collab: the Gale Jacket features a reversible styling that combines the aforementioned rust and flint grey colours with subtle co-branding. It pairs with the Gale Pant, which also carries a wrinkled nylon in rust, matching the colour of the t-shirt that rounds things out. Converse and ACW’s latest collab will be available to purchase on March 11th here.
