[T]he contemporary Haitian art scene, once largely hidden from Western view, is flourishing with many talented and self-taught artists creating beautiful work. With Haiti’s rich culture, history and landscape as a backdrop, the artists depict themes of religion, spirituality and nature in vibrant colours, shapes and patterns. Covering the five artists below, the art exhibition TransVision: An Introduction to the World of Haitian Art, in collaboration with Creative Debuts, aims to reveal the ingenious vision and talent of Haitian artists.
Creative Debuts is a leading platform in championing emerging artists from across the globe, aiming to celebrate and support the incredible undiscovered artists of the world. Co-founders and artists Alex Rollings and Calum Hall felt alienated by the lack of opportunities for emerging artists and wanted to address this by making art more accessible and bridging the gap between the creative and commercial spheres.
