[J]une may well be the most stressful month of the year for fashion students, the month when their years on fashion courses culminate in a final degree show open to industry insiders that could make or break their fate. With five looks and a matter of minutes to impress, the pressure is on. But if the pressure was getting to the students of Middlesex university, whose final degree show took place earlier this month, they didn’t show it.
“Our students represent the best of London’s emerging talent,” said Philip Clarke, Director of Programmes. “At Middlesex, we encourage students to challenge preconceptions of identity and develop original approaches to both garment and textile construction.” This year’s graduates join the ranks of fellow alumni including designers Ashish Gupta and Christopher Raeburn.
