[O]pening next month at the V&A, Frida Kahlo: Making Herself up is a major retrospective exploring the wardrobe of the inimitable Mexican artist. An influence on fashion designers from Jean Paul Gaultier to Riccardo Tisci, Frida’s distinctive style blended the indigenous with the modern. From her flower-embellished hair to her jewellery and voluminous silhouettes, her image always embodied self-determination with the same bold spirit as her art.
In celebration of her legendary style, DONNA IDA and Vestiaire Collective have teamed up to curate a capsule collection of carefully chosen Frida-inspired pieces which will be available in DONNA IDA’s Elizabeth Street store in London from Monday 21st May to Friday 25th May.
Featuring archive selections from Yves Saint Laurent, Vita Kin and Dolce and Gabbana – it’s every bit as vibrant as you’d expect. For those who also want to detox their own closet – Vestiaire Collective will be on hand on 24th May to collect pre-owned luxury pieces from you, and you’ll also get 10% off in store.
