[T]aking the music world by storm with her single ‘Mistress’, Rachel Foxx has brought her firecracker personality to the forefront in the track’s fierce new music video. Shot by good friend and LDN-documentary director Nathan Miller, we see the East London singer in her hometown. Taken in and around Hackney, ‘Mistress’ shows where the two grew up together – “on the same road actually”, Rachel jokes, “I’ve always known him so it was just a matter of time before we collaborated. I’ve enjoyed his work for a long time, he’s artistic and as soon as I could get hold of him, I did. The video is basically me and my friends- doing what we do- drinking, chilling, it didn’t really feel like a video shoot!”
Empowered and fun, the track is as sassy and strong as Rachel Foxx herself: “‘I wrote ‘Mistress’ for females, it’s about feeling confident, sexy, and fun. A lot of my previous songs are about heartbreak and love so I wanted to switch it up for a second. ‘Mistress’ was really fun to write and make, and then Don-E came and added his flavor and the rest was history.” Creating a bold mix of neo-soul, low-key R&B and upbeat vibes, ‘Mistress’ is a sure-fire hit.
