[L]egendary singer, songwriter, poet and writer, Leonard Cohen has died aged 82. Tributes to the Canadian, whose influence on lyricism within pop music hails him as one of the most important artists in modern music, have poured in from across the world.
Cohen’s son, Adam, also a musician, released a statement confirming the death of his Father at home in Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held in the city in the coming weeks.
“My father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records. He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humour”, wrote Adam Cohen.
Cohen’s words on life, love and politics were almost unrivalled. Now seems a more important time than ever to remember his message.
