[T]he theme of the season so far has been travel. From Japan at Emporio Armani, to India at Etro to West Coast America at MSGM voyaging to exotic destinations has provided escapism this season, perhaps a subconscious nod at the state of our immediate surroundings. Marcelo Burlon too drew on this, but his travelling was not limited to one place. For SS18 the designer took on us a journey through subcultures, iconography and with his muse building their identity as they go, borrowing and editing findings along their way. “Surfers turn dark, as backpackers turn left an tropicalia gets in,” read show notes.
