[S]igne Pierce left an indelible mark on both art and internet culture when her video American Reflexxx went viral last summer. Since then the LA/NY-based reality artist has continued to question what is real in an increasingly digital, weightless and non-physical world. These photos contain part of an ongoing series Beverly Hells, an exploration of the suburban beauty and decay that makes up Los Angeles city sprawl. The hyper-reality presented by Signe is reflective of the internet’s obsession with tantalising visual content, a major form of expression for technology the lives behind and within screens.
Signe will be in London in June with Arvida Bystrom and Molly Soda for an art show at Annka Kultys Gallery.
